Tanzania Visa Information – Entry Requirements for Your Safari

Visa Information

When going to Tanzania, you have two options for a visa: E-VISA or Arrival VISA.

We recommend the E-Visa so you can walk straight to customs, but if you prefer doing it in person, you can do that, too!

E-VISA
You need to apply for an e-visa at least 4 weeks before your travel dates.
You Will Need
  • A JPEG pic of your passport’s biometric page
  • A JPEG pic of yourself (smaller than 300KB). Don’t worry if you don’t have an official passport photo – a clear image of yourself against a plain background will do.
  • Your round-trip flight ticket – either PDF or JPEG will work
  • Contact info for your first destination – just address and phone number which you can find on their website
  • Your mother’s and father’s names and nationalities
  • Make note of the security question you choose, as it will be required to check your visa status later
  • Where it asks for ‘host details’, write ‘Self’, as this will save you having to complete the rest of that section
  • A valid Visa or MasterCard for online payment
  • Visit here if you have more questions
Arrival VISA
You need to apply for an e-visa at least 4 weeks before your travel dates.
You Will Need
  • Time to spare (bear this in mind if you have a connecting flight)
  • Confirm an arrival visa is accepted from your country of origin
  • The correct amount of US dollars to pay in cash
  • A pen to complete the forms - if provided by the airline, complete the form before you land and head straight for the visa booth
  • Nomad contact information or details of your first hotel
