In this incredible ecosystem that resides within the worlds largest caldera, you will see vast expanses of highland plains, savanna, woodland and forests. The crater is home to 115 different species of animal including lions, leopards, elephants, cheetahs, wildebeests, zebra and also includes critically endangered animals such as the black rhino and African wild dogs.

Seasons to Visit

There are really only two seasons in Africa. You can't go wrong with either!

Wet season
If you want to have a bit cooler weather you would prefer the wet season. There are occasional rain storms that pass through, but they don't last long and they bring bright, lush tall grasses for the animals to graze on.

Dry season
If you are okay with a little warmer weather, the dry season brings all of the animals out to the watering holes.
